To The To Of Indianapolis

One of the highlights of our little trip to Indianapolis was the trip to the top of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. For a dollar you may ride the elevator to the top. If you are strapped for cash, then the 330 steps to the top is an option. We chose the elevator, but there are still fifty or so steps from where the elevator stops to the viewing platform at the top. It is well worth the walk up. The panoramic view of the downtown is stunning. We were there at sunset. The sun setting in the west, its soft hues illuminating the Capitol inspiring. If you ever get to downtown Indy, check out this great sight.

White River Gardens and Conservator

If you are looking for something to do in Indianapolis to drive off winters chill, a trip to the conservatory at White River Gardens could be just what you need. If the day is mild a walk through the gardens is nice, even if nothing is blooming. But the conservatory is always pleasant, with many blooming tropical plants and gurgling fountains.

Garfield Park Botanical Garden and Conservatory

Garfield Park Botanical Garden and Conservatory is a great place to visit any time of the year. During the summer months the sunken garden is splendidly planted with annual flowers. The winter months the almost two acre conservatory can provide a tropical vacation right here in Indiana.
Garfield Park Botanical Garden and Conservatory is located just off Raymond Street in Indianapolis Indiana.

Ripley County Fairgrounds

Ripley County Fairgrounds

The Ripley County Fairgrounds is located at Osgood, Indiana. It is the site of the Ripley County 4-H Fair. There are also many other activities there during the course of the year. A Farmers Market operates every Saturday morning from April through October. The Kentucky Horse Show, fireworks on the Fourth of July, and a Christmas Walk are also held there.
There is a playground for children to play on and a dirt track for races which are held on Saturday nights during the summer.
